Missions Module – Task Management Overview

What the Missions Module Is

The Missions Module is Biz1’s central task management system — designed to help organizations plan, assign, track, and complete work in a structured, transparent, and collaborative way.

A mission represents any piece of work that needs to be done: a follow-up call, a support case, a project task, a sales action, a reminder, or an internal operational activity.

Instead of tasks being scattered across emails, WhatsApp, or personal notes, the Missions Module brings everything into one unified workspace, where every task is visible, traceable, and manageable.

When users open this page, they enter a complete Mission Dashboard — not just a task list, but an operational control center for daily work.

What the Missions Module Is Used For

The Missions Module serves as the backbone of daily work management inside Biz1.

Teams use it to:

  • Create and organize tasks in a structured way

  • Assign work to specific team members

  • Link missions to customers and projects

  • Track deadlines and priorities

  • Monitor progress in real time

  • Collaborate through chat, notes, and file sharing

  • Automate follow-ups and reminders

  • Analyze productivity through reports and exports

In simple terms, it turns chaotic work into organized workflow.

Core Capabilities of the Missions Module

Mission Creation and Assignment

Every mission starts with a clear intention — what needs to be done and by whom.

Users can create missions with:

  • A clear title

  • Detailed notes or instructions

  • Due date and time

  • Priority level (high, medium, low)

  • Color label for visual identification

Missions can be assigned to one or multiple team members, ensuring accountability and collaboration.

Each mission can also be linked to:

  • A specific customer, so all related work stays connected to that client

  • A project, so it fits within a larger workflow or delivery process

This makes missions not just standalone tasks, but part of a bigger business context.

Mission Dashboard — The Central Workspace

When users open the Missions page, they see a powerful dashboard that gives them both overview and control.

At the top of the page is a visual pie chart, which instantly communicates how work is distributed across different statuses:

  • Today — missions due today

  • Priority — high-importance missions

  • Done — completed work

  • Upcoming — future tasks

  • All — total number of missions

This chart helps users instantly understand:

  • Are we overloaded today?

  • How much work is urgent?

  • Are we making progress?

The data for this chart is dynamically loaded from the backend and updates whenever filters or data change.

Filters and Controls — How Users Manage Missions

On the right side of the dashboard, users have powerful tools to control what they see.

They can filter missions by:

  • Date range (From and To date)

  • Team member

  • Project

  • Customer

  • Mission step or status

  • Who created the mission

There is also a search bar that allows users to find any mission instantly by typing keywords.

Key action buttons include:

  • Add Mission — opens the mission creation form

  • Show Today’s Missions — instantly filters to today’s tasks

  • Split by Status — organizes the list into sections like Today, Priority, Upcoming, and Done

For bulk operations, users can:

  • Assign multiple missions to a team member

  • Remove assignments

  • Add missions to a campaign

  • Run automation on selected missions

  • Export filtered missions to Excel

This makes the dashboard not just a viewing screen, but a powerful management tool.

Mission Table — Where Work Is Displayed

Below the filters, missions are displayed in a structured table.

Each row represents one mission and typically includes:

  • Mission title

  • Linked project

  • Associated customer

  • Creator of the mission

  • Assigned team member(s)

  • Creation date

  • Due date

  • Last chat activity

  • Color label

  • Priority

  • Current step/status

  • Customer status

If missions are filtered to show only today’s work, a clear “Today” heading appears above the table.

Users can expand any mission into a full-screen view to see details, comments, and attachments.

Each mission row includes action icons for:

  • Viewing or expanding the mission

  • Copying mission details

  • Marking the mission as Done

  • Deleting or canceling the mission

The table is loaded dynamically via:

POST dashboard/mission/loadrecord_tasks

and supports pagination with “Load More” or “Load All” options.

Mission Workflow — How Work Moves Forward

A typical mission lifecycle looks like this:

  1. A mission is created

  2. It is assigned to a team member

  3. A due date and priority are set

  4. The mission is linked to a project or customer

  5. Work begins and status updates are made

  6. When completed, the mission is marked as Done

This structured flow ensures nothing falls through the cracks.

Mission Dependencies and Sub-Missions

Complex tasks can be broken down into smaller sub-missions.

For example:

  • “Prepare project proposal” could have sub-tasks like

    • Gather client requirements

    • Create budget

    • Draft presentation

Missions can also have dependencies, meaning one task must be completed before another can move forward. This is especially useful in project workflows.

Team Collaboration and Communication

The Missions Module is not just about tracking tasks — it is built for teamwork.

Inside each mission, users can:

  • Chat with team members

  • Leave comments and notes

  • Attach files, images, or recordings

  • Track activity history

This eliminates the need for separate communication tools and keeps everything in one place.

Reminders and Notifications

Users can set reminders for missions so nothing is forgotten.

Notifications can be sent via:

  • Email

  • SMS

  • WhatsApp

This ensures team members are alerted before deadlines, reducing delays and missed commitments.

Mission Settings — Customizing the Experience

Clicking the settings (gear) icon opens the Mission Settings modal, where administrators can customize how the module behaves.

Here, they can:

  • Choose default mission views

  • Decide which columns appear in the mission table

  • Set permissions (who can delete missions, see all team missions, edit chats, etc.)

  • Define default mission behaviors

These settings are stored in the user_detail table and apply per user or organization.

Appointment Dashboard — A Second View on the Same Page

When the branch module is enabled, the Missions page includes a second tab called Appointment Dashboard.

This tab does not show missions — instead, it shows scheduled appointments.

Users can:

  • View upcoming appointments

  • Filter by date, branch, or type

  • Export appointment data to Excel

  • Customize columns via settings

Appointments are loaded via:

POST dashboard/appointment/get_appointment_list_in_mission_tab

This integration allows users to manage both tasks and appointments from one central place.

Permissions and Access Control

Not everyone sees or does the same things in the Missions Module.

Administrators can define:

  • Who can delete missions

  • Who can see all team missions

  • Who can edit mission chats

  • Who can access automation features

Regular team members typically only see missions assigned to them, ensuring security and focus.

API and External Integrations

The Missions Module supports API integration, allowing external systems or mobile apps to:

  • Create missions automatically

  • Update mission status

  • Assign tasks programmatically

This makes Biz1 suitable for automation, third-party integrations, and advanced workflows.

Who Should Use the Missions Module

This module is ideal for:

  • Team members managing daily work

  • Project managers overseeing deliveries

  • Sales teams tracking follow-ups

  • Support teams handling tickets

  • Operations teams coordinating internal tasks

Any organization that relies on structured work and deadlines can benefit from this module.

Final Summary — What the Missions Module Really Is

The Missions Module is more than a task list — it is a complete work management system that:

  • Organizes tasks clearly

  • Improves accountability

  • Enhances collaboration

  • Increases productivity

  • Reduces missed deadlines

  • Provides real-time visibility into work progress

By centralizing all tasks, conversations, files, and deadlines in one place, Biz1 ensures that teams stay aligned, focused, and efficient.
